with Ann Karine Bourdeau Leduc

28 February 2023

About

For the second year in a row, DRAC is offering a special day of activities for spring break on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Visit the exhibition Partout les empreintes nous précèdent by artist Ann Karine Bourdeau Leduc and take part in four creative workshops inspired by her work!

As part of this event, the artist also invites participants to a meeting discussion in order to present her career path and her artistic approach. She will lead two of the four workshops during the day, alternating with DRAC cultural mediators. Don't miss this opportunity to discover atypical techniques and mediums with the artist such as pulp painting, Suminagashi, mixed-media collage and mimetic sculpture.

The day of workshops is intended for school-aged children (elementary and high school). The fee is $45 (taxes included) per participant, lunch not included. The workshops will all be held in French.

Reservations are required and places are limited. For more information on this day of activity or to reserve, visit our online box office or contact the Maison des arts Desjardins Drummondville ticket service at 1 819 477-5412.

Workshops

The four creative workshops of the day will explore these techniques:

• Suminagashi: Discover this ancient Japanese technique that creates marbled effects with ink on paper. The workshop is led by artist Ann Karine Bourdeau Leduc.
• Pulp painting: Explore this technique of applying colored paper pulp to a wet sheet to create an all-paper image. The workshop is led by artist Ann Karine Bourdeau Leduc.
• Collage: Inspired by a series of recent paintings by the artist, create your own two-dimensional work using colour charts, watercolour pencils and coloured paper. The workshop is led by a DRAC cultural mediator.
• Mimetic sculpture "object-decoration": Create a three-dimensional sculpture that imitates an everyday object using clay, cardboard, paper or wooden sticks. The workshop is led by a DRAC cultural mediator.
